APPLYING TO STRINGWOOD

Stringwood Summer Chamber Music Festival is an intensive program and acceptance into it is competitive. Careful preparation with guidance from your private teacher is essential for a successful audition. Auditions

Stringwood Young Artists, ages 12-22, come from dedicated studios all across the country. Students are selected based on the applicant's ability to demonstrate a variety of musical and technical skills and knowledge of style and interpretion. Level of repertoire and previous chamber music experience are taken into consideration when we form ensembles.

TO APPLY: Admission to Stringwood is by audition accompanied by a letter of recommendation from your private teacher. When you have your video files and recommendation letter ready, proceed to the getacceptd.com website. Complete all required application questions and upload the following items to the website:

1. Unedited video recording of (2) three-octave scales (one major and one minor).

2. Unedited video recording of a movement from a standard concerto or unaccompanied Bach.

3. Unedited video recording chamber music excerpts.*

TUITION & FEES

Application Fee : $80
(non-refundable fee)

Tuition, plus Room & Board: $1750
Upon acceptance, the total cost of $1830 includes all chamber music coachings, all masterclasses and special guest presentations, private lessons, all recreation activities including bike rentals and transportation costs to Stringwood events, as well as all meals, snacks, and air-conditioned lodging with private bath for the entire two weeks.

During their stay at Stringwood, students have access to a coin-operated laundry conveniently located in the Eagle Bluff residential dorm. They will also have an opportunity to purchase gift items at the Eagle Bluff gift-shop, enjoy the hometown baking of the Aroma Pie Shoppe on our annual bike ride, and are able to shop in Lanesboro and other sites on our weekly concert tours.
