2024 APPLICATIONS

Stringwood specializes in nurturing the individual and connecting young musicians to chamber music as an expressive art form. The intensity of the music making is enhanced by a sensory rich environment. If you have a question about the application process, contact us at 651-587-7595.


 

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS

Stringwood students, ages 12-22, come from dedicated studios all across the country. Students are selected based on the applicant's ability to demonstrate a variety of musical and technical skills and knowledge of style and interpretation. Level of repertoire and previous chamber music experience are taken into consideration when creating groups.

TO APPLY (Pre-College)

Apply at getacceptd.com. Please note there is a non-refundable $60 application fee.


The online application will require you to:

1. Upload an Introduction video with verbal responses to the following questions: How did you hear about Stringwood? What do you want to learn at Stringwood? What will you contribute to your group? 

2. Upload an unedited video recording of (1) three-octave scale (quarter note = 50, slur four sixteenths).

3. Upload 5-7 minutes of your best playing.

4. Upload a recommendation letter from your private teacher.

Final acceptance to Stringwood is dependent upon a signed Medical Release and Code of Conduct, copied and returned via Acceptd messaging.

TO APPLY (College up to age 22)

College level students are admitted based on application information and performance videos.

Complete all required application questions and upload the following items to this website:.

1. Upload an Introduction video with verbal responses to the following questions: How did you hear about Stringwood? What do you want to accomplish at Stringwood? What will you contribute to your group? 

2. Upload 5-7 minutes of your best playing!

3. Upload a movement of unaccompanied Bach.

4. Upload a recommendation letter from your private teacher. 

5. Fill out the Application form and pay the $60.00 application fee (non-refundable).

Final acceptance to Stringwood is dependent upon a signed Medical Release and Code of Conduct, copied and returned via Acceptd messaging.

APPLICATION FEE (non-refundable) is $60. 
 

TUITION, ROOM & BOARD

Stringwood's 16 day in-person program is $2,800 for tuition, room and board. In addition, we provide FREE Minneapolis/St Paul or Rochester, Minnesota Airport pickup for all travelling applicants.
 

Upon acceptance, a non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is due.

Application is Due May 1, 2024

Final tuition must be paid by June 30, 2024
