APPLICATION
When is my application due? When can I expect to hear if I'm accepted?

Applications are due by April 1st. Please contact us if you need an extension. Students will be notified of acceptance by June 1st.
Is there a waiting list?

Applications received by April 1st are given priority in Stringwood ensembles as we build groups based on video submissions, age, and experience. Any qualified applicant whom we cannot initially assign to a group is placed on a "waitlist" while we receive ongoing applications.
FINANCIAL
How do I make tuition payments?

Pay tuition by credit card online at this website or with a personal check. If you would like to send a check, contact the Executive Director.
What is included in the cost of tuition? What is not included?

Tuition, Room, and Board for Stringwood is $2800 inclusive. There are no additional program costs.
Will I have any personal expenses?

Stringwood provides room and board and a bike for the trail ride to participants. There are three concert tours and on these trips you may choose to purchase personal items as well as ice cream and pie. The laundry facilities in the dorm are free.
Do you offer scholarships?

Scholarships are awarded to select applicants based on demonstrated financial need and Stringwood program requirements. Stringwood tuition is below the national average in order to make our program affordable. Contact the Executive Director.
Do you accept outside scholarship funds?

Yes, we accept outside scholarships and funding toward Stringwood tuition.
How soon do I have to submit payment?

Upon acceptance to Stringwood, a non-refundable deposit of $1000 is due.

Final tuition must be paid by June 1, 2025.

Where is Stringwood located? Which airport should I fly into?

There are two airports to choose from when selecting a flight:

Whichever airport you choose, we will send a representative to drive you to Lanesboro.
Will my cell phone work at Stringwood?

Yes. All major mobile phone services work at Stringwood.
What should I expect the weather to be like?

Beautiful! It can be cool at night and warm during the day, so bring appropriate clothing to stay comfortable. All buildings on campus are air-conditioned.
Can I arrive Early? Late?

You can arrive early; however, you will be personally and financially responsible for providing accommodations outside the festival dates. To get the most out of your experience we recommend you arrive on the program’s start date. However, if you have extenuating circumstances, contact the Executive Director.
STUDENT CONCERTS
What is appropriate performance attire?

black dress pants or long skirt (any color), multiple concert shirts (at least one black), dress collar or scoop neckline, necktie, belt, dress shoes.
When and where are the performances? Are they open to the general public?

There are multiple student concerts during Stringwood. Locations and times can be found at the Student Concerts page. All performances and masterclasses are free and open to the public.
How much personal time is there?

The daily schedule is designed to maximize your personal practice time, group rehearsals, coachings and masterclasses, and includes sufficient free time, group socializing, and outdoor adventures.
Will bedding and towels be provided? Where are the showers?

Eagle Bluff does not provide linens. You must bring your sleeping bag, pillow and towels.

Every dorm room has its own bathroom and shower.
Are meals included? What accommodations are available for my dietary restrictions?

Yes! All meals are included in Stringwood room and board. Our required health form will ask if you have any dietary restrictions, and the chef and kitchen staff will accomodate.
